Arsenal 1-1 Fulham: Dont Worry, Be Happy

Well we couldn't keep up our Premiership winning streak which yes is quite disappointing, but there seems to be quite a lot of negativity the morning after. We were slow, we lacked cutting edge and spark. After the game Arsene said the Dortmund game may have played a part in the performance, it certainly looked like it. The truth is though, we can't let that be an excuse for us now, and as Arsene also said, we want to be in the Champions League, so games like this will have to be played. Wednesday to Saturday is a very short gap but we need to learn to cope with it.
Overall, I can't understand all the negativity, we didn't even lose the game and the performance was still a huge improvement than some of those performances earlier in the season. People saying we've returned to that form is ridiculous. Let's look at our form in all competitions WWWWWDWWWD. That's brilliant form even for the best teams, we were never gonna keep winning forever and in some ways, maybe this is a good time to let one slip, when Liverpool play Man city (we'll see what happens in that one).
There's also been a lot of criticism about Andrey Arshavin. I was at the game yesterday and I honestly thought he did quite well. I think the main problem was that when people saw his name on the team sheet they,
1) expected a great performance straight away
2) expected him to play like Gervinho

Gervinho came on in the 2nd half and did very well. He's a different player to Arshavin. Gervinho runs more, Arshavin has more skill on the ball. Maybe it was Gervinhos running that we missed, the directness of his play is superb and his running in from behind could have been vital. Still, he needs a rest someday. I also think that Arshavin is the best back-up we could hope for. If we sell him, we simply buy a new left winger, there is no garuntee they would be better than Andrey, unless we forked out a decent some of money.
I also think Chamakh had a decent game after he came on. He didn't do much, but what he did do was much more positive than what we've seen recently, although he desperately needs a goal.
Man of the Match for me yesterday though was between Theo and Santis. Santos I fell had one of his best Arsenal game and Theo gave Riise a torrid time at moments in the game. I think Santos is as good as a defender as Clichy was, and a much better attacker.
Overall, it was a disappointment not to win the game, but these things happen in football, we can't always win. Hopefully we can get back to winning ways against Citeh where we can give $amir Na$ri a nice warm Arsenal welcome, show a bit of passion.

Thanks for Reading
