Arsenal 7-1 Blackburn: A Taste Of Heaven

Well we were seventh at the start of the game and by the end we had scored seven and moved up to fifth. This was vintage Arsenal, the football was sensational and the goals just flowed. It was like Cesc never left. RVP was once again the star. His movement is simply unplayable and an Arsenal without him seems like a very worrying situation indeed. His first assist for the Ox was spinetingly good football, as were pretty much all our goals and it shows that goalscoring isnt the only thing captain van tastic can do. The pass was a defense splitting, match winning, cesc-like beuty, it was like the Arsenal of old had payed us a timely visit.
The Ox once again showed his qualities. When Gervinho eventually does return surely the Ox, in this form, will keep his place which leaves Theo in the firing line. Walcott had a marvellous game which recently has been too rare a sight. Three assists, two for Robin and one for the Ox, showed the connection he has with RVP. He's not as good as he thinks he is and is far too inconsistent at the moment but I think he could turn into a marvellous player. There were reports this morning that he was set to sign a new contract worth 80k per week. If true this can only be good news, 80k may sound a lot but if you consider how Diaby is on around 50-60 then it puts it into some perspective. On Theo's day he is unplayable. His pace is electric which is obviously a useful asset but he has a lot of work to do to become a player capable of playing in a title chasing team.
Blackburn helped Theo yesterday by playing a stupidly high defensive line. Theo was able to make runs straight through them. I think this only shows just how inconsistent he is. If a team sits deep he has little to no impact whatsoever because his pace isnt utilised. I think he would be much better used as an impact sub, chasing a result when the game is stretched. Bringing Theo off the bench in these situations would provide us with a huge boost and is a much more dynamic option than say Arshavin or Chamakh.
There were obviously many positives from the performance yeserday but one of them was certainly another brilliant game from Coquelin. The Coq looks settled and composed in the side already and is certainly a much stronger at right back than Djourou. He provided the assist for Robin's third and got forward effectively whenever he could. Unfortunately for him his rise has corrsponded perfectly with the return of Sagna but im sure he will become an Arsenal regular in the future, maybe rotating with Song in midfield.
Ramsey was replaced with Rosisky in the starting line up which proved to be a brilliant decision. If I was picking the team it would be TR to start away to Sunderland as Ramsey has dropped off the pace considerably in recent weeks. Rosisky just can't get himself a goal but he was dangerous throughout yesterday and looked creative in possession.
The day was rounded off by an Henry goal, a sight which makes me dizzy. It was a marvellous way to end the game and a brilliant way to mark his final game at the Emirates. The finish took a little deflection but I don't think anyone really cares about that. Another special moment served up from a true Arsenal legend. It was clear he lacked the pace to go one on one with the keeper but his awareness of Van Persie was superb, showing pace really isn't everything.
We now just have to look to the next game and the next game happens to be Sunderland away. Sunderland are in superb form and have beaten Man City fairly recently but I think its time for us to end that form. We cannot afford to loose any points in games such as this anymore if our ambition is top four. When Chelsea drop points, we have to gain them, vital weeks lie ahead.
Im going up to Sunderland next week so wish me luch in the wilderness.
Thanks for Reading.
