Arsenal 1-1 Wolves: 10 Man Defense strikes again

Well the draw was obvioulsy a disappointing result in a game that really we should be winning. Previoulsy, teams have often come to the emirates and stuck 10 or 11 men behind the ball, and thats what Wolves implemented today. They showed little or no attacking intent for most of the game and after they got a goal, sat back and let us come onto them. We've never been good at breaking through those defenses and it was always going to be a big test for us today. We gave it absolutely everything we had towards the end but Wayne Hennesey was always there. Good goalkeepers is an omen that has visited us before and when a goalkeeper is in good form, sometimes nothing goes past him.
We gave Rosisky and Benayoun starts today with the former impressing me more than the latter. Theo was ill and couldnt play so Benayoun took to the wing. I like Benayoun, his work rate is vital in games sometimes and hes good in possession. However i see him more as a central player and for me, he doesnt give us the required impact from the wing. I wouldve liked to see the Ox, who was on the bench today, as i think he couldve given us the directness in a game where we had to break down a solid defense. I also think he couldve given us an outlet onto the wing, as Benayoun liked to come inside to collect passes rather making runs down the channels.
Stuart Attwell was a right old fart yesterday. He slowed the game down many times frustrating fans and players. We can't really complain though, we shouldve won the game anyway and he sent a Wolves player off. I think yesterday, we really missed Santos and Sagna. Our two full-backs today, Verma and Djourou are very solid defenders most of the time. However they are not good enough in the attacking department. Frequently our wingers had the ball on the wings and the full-back would just sit there. In this situation there has to be an overlapping run and more often than not our winger would have to go it alone, usually getting beaten.
The game gave Robin Van Persie a chance to chase his record. He needed three today but he didnt have the best game of his career. He clearly wants the record but it deosnt look like hel get another chance. Arsene will probably rest him for the QPR game, although it is vital we get a win on the board after this draw. Gervinho, in my opinion, has given us a directness that lacked from previous recent Arsenal teams. His run for his goal was superb and the finish, well it went in. At first I thought he had ruined it completely and he hasnt exactly shown hes a lethal finisher in his time with us.
One thing i was very impressed about was Koscielny. There was one moment when Vermaelen, already on a yellow, reacted angrily to a challenge from a Wolves player. He got up and started moving towards the Wolves player but Kos ran back put his arms round Vermaelen and pulled him away. That sved us from going down to 10 men and potentially losing the game. Kos did the same during the squabble about the red card, pulling Robin away from getting too friendly with the Wolves players.
Overall, the result is disappointing, but top four is still in our grasp and hopefully, with some signings in January, we can really maintain a challenge there. If we had one today we would have gone fourth so it really feels like two points dropped rather than one gained. The next three games are vital, QPR at home and Fulham and Swansea away.
Finally, at the start of the game some dude near me in the stadium decided to boo Chamakh when his name was announced. That is out of order. Chamakh is not Nasri. CHamakh has done nothing wrong except be in poor form and does not deserve to be booed by his own fans. Just remember how good he was when he first came.

Thanks for reading.
