7 Wins in 8 - CRISIS

Arsene Knows. The decision to play Chamakh over Park has been met with wide disappointment from Arsenal fans. The smile on Arsenes face when 'Ju' netted the second last night was clear for all to see. What i like about Park is his ability to play the defenders. From what iv seen both or club and country he is always making runs off the last defender making him different to what we have and an exciting player indeed. The finish was Henry-esque and it looks like Park had overtaken MC in the manager's thinking. Quite right to because Chamakh was gifted a chance on Sunday. A chance which he hasn't taken. He was largely very poor in the Stoke game. The problem that Chamakh seems to have is that his link up play is perfectly good yet he continues to impose little or no goal scoring threat whatsoever. Still it didn't matter and Van the man was left to save us again. Over and over again he shows why we need him to sign a new contract.
Anyway, moving onto the game last night. I do feel the win was vital. We needed to keep the momentum of consecutive wins going and on a whole I felt we did our job well. It was important for some of the youngsters like Yenneris making his debut at RB and Miguel at LB. Both had pretty solid games and look like they could be ones for the future. The carling cup has always meant something to Wenger. We have the record of 9 CC Quarter Finals in a row. The next best in Liverpool with 5! I think Arsenes desperation to end the trophy drought is shown by the decent side that played in last seasons competition. Everyone knows what happened there but it would be great to get another shot at wembley next year.
The attendance at the Emirates last night was in the high 50,000s. The media have given us a lot of stick for our Carling Cup attendance. All of this seems ridiculous when we had the highest attendance of the 2nd round of the competition by a country mile.
I also wanted to discuss an issue that I saw below me at the Emirates on Sunday. Almost every game people get ejected from the stadium for various reasons. Yet on Sunday there seemed to be almost one every five minutes. Each were met by applause and a standing ovation. The main reason seems to be persistent standing but an ejection seems a little harsh for that. Sure maybe words were shouted at the Stoke fans who seemed to act like a bunch of cu*ts for the entire game. They returned every 'one Aaron Ramsey' chant with a Ryan Shawcross one. This clearly wound up a few fans but I do think the Stewards could have been a bit more merciful with this one.
Onto Chelsea now and the big news is that after the Verminator came through his comeback against Bolton, he is fit for Saturday. He confirmed that the reason he came off in the cake was for muscle cramp rather than a strain that many people first feared. If he does return to the starting XII against Chelsea then Arsene has a selection problem on his hands. Luckily this time it's the right kind of problem rather than one forced by injuries. The choice is Per/Verm, Kos/Per or Kos/Verm. The basics is that if Vermaelen plays then Koscielny will probably shift over to RB but if he doesn't then Djourou will probably get another game. When Bacary/Carl get back is when Wenger has the real problem of who to drop. I imagine there'll be a lot of rotation but personally I would prefer Kos/Verm. Koscielny is in great form and his performance in Marseille was probably his best in an Arenal shirt. He's had his critics and everyone except Arsenal fans seem to think he's sh*t. At the moment though he's turning into another great piece of business from Arsene. Hopefully we can get something from the bridge. Chelsea are low at the moment after their game against QPR and the whole Terry racism thing. A win would be incredible and would put us right back at the top of the table.
Anyway we'll see.
Later in the week il team up with the ArseHole to write a blog analysing our new signings. Precariously rating each of them.
Till then.
Thanks for Reading
Lick my Arse.
